Christians believe that through His crucifixion Lord Jesus Christ assimilated all the sinful activities of the world’s people. It is not that Jesus Christ should make a contract for our sins and that we should go on committing them, for this is a most heinous proposal.

Yes Jesus took the sins of the whole world on Himself on the cross. John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
Why Jesus took the sins because He is the creator of the universe. If creation is in trouble who can rescue it? The Creator who created it. If creation is fallen in sin and can't come out of it by herself who is going to help her out? Again the creator who created it. John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
Jesus, God's son who was with God from the beginning and who created everything He finally came down to pay the full price as penalty for sin. When Adam and Eve committed sin they transfered the ownership of their soul into the hands of Satan. Since Satan won the ownership legally every human on this planet is Satan's property. So Satan has full authority to take all the human into hell fire because now he owns them. If God had to rescue the fallen human from the hands of Satan He had only one choice that was to send His own son Jesus to pay the price and redeem the lost humanity and get back the lost ownership.
That is exactly what Jesus did. He shed His precious blood and redeemed the fallen and sinful human.
Rom 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned;
Rom 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.
Rom 5:15 But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.
It is not a henious proporsal nor it was a contract from Jesus. Since Jesus is the sole creator of the universe He came down to save the lost humanity. He is the creator so He can do anything. We are nobody to question about His sovereign will.
If you think that krishna can save people it is not possible because he himself is under sin. Whoever commits sin is a slave of sin and slave does not live in house forever.
John 8:34 Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.
John 8:35 "And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son (Jesus) abides forever.
John 8:36 "Therefore if the Son (Jesus) makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
Finally one more thing Jesus paid the full price for every human on this planet but forgiveness of sin would not come to you unless and until you show willingness for it. Jesus is a just God he will never push anything in your throat unless you ask for it. So yes a person who receives Jesus as their Lord and Savior they only he/she gets this gift of forgiveness of sin and eternal life in heaven but others who reject Jesus would not receive it.
